EACTP announces Mark Blayney as its new FD
The European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP) has appointed Mark Blayney as its new Finance Director.
Mark, a chartered accountant who has more than 25 years experience of business rescue, turnaround and refinancing, will take up the EACTP role in January, succeeding David Mitchell, who is stepping down after three years as FD.
A member of EACTP since January this year, Mark is one of the founders of Galen Partners, which specialises in providing hands-on support to businesses in distress and GPS Capital which invests in special situations. A former director of TMA UK, he is also the author of Turning A Business Around, the owner manager’s guide to business rescue, as well as a number of other books on business and finance issues.
Mark said he was delighted to be asked to take on this role. He added: "I am a strong advocate for the EACTP and the need for a professional qualification for turnaround professionals. I am really looking forward to being able to play a part in the development of the association at such a pivotal time as it prepares to launch its education programme."
EACTP President Tyrone Courtman said Mark would be a great addition to the EACTP's Executive Board and also thanked David for his work as FD over the last three years.
Tyrone, who will be succeeded as President by Jukka-Pekka Joensuu in January, said: "David has done a sterling job setting up our financial procedures and keeping our finances in shape over the last three years. I know Mark will continue this excellent work as the association continues to grow and develop."
