EACTP expands its remit

The European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals has expanded the area from which applicants can apply.

We are really pleased to be able to expand our territory to ensure our organisation is accessible to even more turnaround practitioners.  The committee has also been working on a number of other measures which should really help streamline the application process following feedback from applicants.

Ian Gray, chairman of the EACTP Standards and Admissions Committee

The EACTP, which had previously only covered EU countries, has widened its remit to continental Europe plus UK, Eire, Greenland, Iceland, Cyprus and Malta.

The expansion plans were approved by the association’s Certification Oversight Committee, which met at TMA Europe’s annual conference in Munich earlier this month, and changes have since been made to the organisation’s licence agreement.

Ian Gray, chairman of the EACTP Standards and Admissions Committee, said the move would serve as an excellent launch pad for further growth.

The EACTP now has 29 members from across Europe from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

Mr Gray said: “We are really pleased to be able to expand our territory to ensure our organisation is accessible to even more turnaround practitioners. ┬áThe committee has also been working on a number of other measures which should really help streamline the application process following feedback from applicants.”

The EACTP is currently allowing applicants with a strong turnaround record to be certified on the basis of their experience. But this process of entry through demonstrated experience will end within the coming months, and in 2015 all applicants will need to pass examinations.

Mr Gray added: “With work progressing well to develop our examination for introduction next year, it’s an ideal time for anyone considering becoming a Certified Turnaround Professional to apply now and start enjoying the benefits.”
