EACTP launches new networking initiative
The European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP) is holding its inaugural networking event in London this summer.
The event on Wednesday 29th June is being hosted and sponsored by Squire Patton Boggs and will be held at the firm's offices at 7 Devonshire Square from 5.30pm.
The theme for the evening will be Brexit, with a presentation and panel of experts discussing the result of the previous week's referendum asking did we vote the right way and analysing what the consequences might be.
Wolfgang Maschek, who leads Squire Patton Boggs’ EU Public Policy Practice in Brussels, will give the presentation, and the panel will be chaired by Ian Gray, Chair of EACTP's Standards and Admissions Committee. Also on the panel will be EACTP President Jukka-Pekka Joensuu, TMA Europe President and EACTP Fellow Lukas Fecker and Dr Jens Rinze, a Partner of Squire Patton Boggs who heads the German Financial Services Practice.
The panel discussion will be followed by a networking drinks reception. All EACTP members are welcome to attend the free event and are encouraged to bring a guest with them.
The event is the first in a series of regular EACTP networking sessions being launched in the UK and to be rolled out across Europe. Each country with an established EACTP membership will be planning to hold three events each year; focused on a business theme and featuring a presentation and panel discussion followed by networking.
Ian said: "Given our growing membership we felt the time was right to start holding regular events to enable our members to catch up with each other, build contacts and to share knowledge and ideas. We also hope these events will be an ideal way for our members to introduce colleagues to the EACTP and the many benefits of becoming a Certified Turnaround Professional."
"We are delighted that such a prestigious professional services firm as Squire Patton Boggs is supporting EACTP by sponsoring our inaugural networking event. We are looking forward to a great night of debate and networking, and hope this will be the first of many EACTP events to come."
Susan Kelly, TMA Europe board member, EACTP member and leader of the UK and Europe Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group for Squire Patton Boggs, added: "Brexit is in the balance and even Obama wants in on the discussion, wisely or not. It is a perfect topic for EACTP members to consider - whether UK stays or goes - particularly with regard to the consequences and or the next steps for businesses and their funders across Europe and beyond. Squire Patton Boggs is honoured to be hosting EACTP's inaugural event."
