Francesco is Co-Founder of KL Industries, a Swiss Turnaround Consulting Boutique which collaborates with Private Equity Funds, VCs and Family Offices interested in improving an underperforming Portfolio Company.

Formerly, he acted as a Chief Restructuring Officer for turnaround fund PHI Industrial Acquisitions; on its behalf he was responsible for executing the turnaround of a European paper company with assets across multiple jurisdictions, including Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands and Germany.

Francesco began his turnaround career in 1994 as a member of a turnaround consultancy firm in New York.

In 1998, he took control of his family’s struggling food retail business in Italy.

After rescuing and selling the family business in 2003, he began investing privately in Italian industrial turnarounds. He successfully exited his investments and moved to Barcelona in 2008 to take on larger restructuring roles for fund portfolios and family offices.

Francesco graduated from the Catholic University of Milan with a degree in Economics, holds an Executive MBA from ESADE Business School and is a Certified Turnaround Professional of the European Association of Turnaround Professionals.

He is also a passionate sailor who is certified as a Captain by the International Maritime Organization and has competed twice at the IMS Sailing World Championships.

Francesco resides in Lucerne, Switzerland.
