Carlos is a frequent lecturer and is widely recognized as one of the Spanish leading financial and operational crisis management professionals. He is a hand-on expert in turnarounds and workouts, with extensive experience in bankruptcy reorganization, the restructuring of troubled businesses, and acquisitions and divestures. He began his professional career as a strategic management consultant at Andersen Consulting. After that he founded and led Gila&Co. to become the ground-breaking turnaround firm in Spain for more than a decade. He has decades of experience as a CEO/CRO/President, running, reviving, advising, investing, purchasing and selling companies. In 2011 he was the recipient of the Turnaround Management Association´s International Turnaround of the Year' Award. Carlos is now Senior Advisor for Oaktree Capital Management, and serves as non-executive Director in various company boards, chairing audit and governance committees.
