Education and Training Committee

The Education and Training Committee is responsible for determining the form of the theoretical knowledge examinations, its syllabus and content, examination papers and method. It also determines the requirements for continuing professional development. This includes approving the training organisations recognised by the EACTP for the provision of theoretical knowledge sufficient to enable candidates to sit the theoretical knowledge examinations and for the ongoing provision of continuing professional development education. The committee is chaired by Alan Tilley.

Alan Tillley

Alan Tillley

Alan Tilley is a founding principal of leading turnaround management firm BM&T European Restructuring Solutions and has more than 20 years’ expertise in turnaround and restructuring. He is a frequent speaker and writer on cross border European restructuring, and is the 2008 and 2011 recipient of the TMA International Chairman’s award for outstanding service to the international turnaround and restructuring profession. He was Insolvency and Rescue UK’s turnaround manager of the year 2010, is author of Turnaround Management; Unlocking and Preserving Value in Distressed Businesses and is the co-author or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) best practice guideline on turnaround.

Dr Volker Beissenhirtz

Dr Volker Beissenhirtz

Dr. Volker Beissenhirtz is a German attorney-at-law with twenty years of experience in corporate crises and insolvency. Before founding his own law firm, he worked for various national and international law firms. Besides acting as a lawyer, he regularly assumes positions as managing director and advisory board member in (distressed) SME’s. Due to the type of cases he worked on, Volker also has long-standing experience in Forensic Services. He is also a regular author and lecturer on the subject of corporate crisis and turnaround, including as a lecturer for corporate turnaround at the University of Applied Sciences Landshut.

Jantine Hak

Jantine Hak

Jantine Hak studied Financial Business Economics and Accountancy. She started her career in 1996 at Arthur Andersen. After three years, she  made the transition to financial services. She worked at ABN AMRO Bank for one year. In 2000 she started as a consultant at Kruger: a ‘hands on’ firm of professionals specialized in supporting mid-market companies with strategic focus and improving financial performance, through Business Consultancy, Corporate Finance and Interim Management, with a leading market position in the Dutch restructuring market. Since 2008 she is partner at Kruger. Jantine has a broad experience in understanding companies in all its aspects. She is challenged to work together with entrepreneurs. She is a member of several supervisory boards.

Paola Tondelli

Paola Tondelli

Paola Tondelli has more than 20 years’ experience in turnaround with a specific focus in debt restructuring, distress M&A both buy side and sell side, court and out-of-court proceedings. She has worked with clients of a wide range of sectors and size, from multinationals to large Italian industrial corporations and medium-sized to large groups.In 1993 Paola joined Vitale e Borghesi (becoming partner in 1996), a corporate finance advisory boutique founded in 1991 that rapidly became one of the most reputable independent financial advisors in Italy before merging with the Italian branch of Lazard, becoming part of the global financial advisory group. She also spent two years as Chief Financial Officer of a technology company listed on the Milano stock exchange before joining Vitale & Co, a leading corporate finance advisory firm that specialises in M&A and corporate restructuring. Paola is also a board member of TMA Europe Italian Chapter. 

Piotr Bieniasz

Piotr Bieniasz

Piotr is a chartered accountant, member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Currently works as a CFO at Grupa ASE where he leads distress M&A and turnaround projects, holding board level positions in acquired companies.  In his previous roles he worked for Deloitte auditing major national oil/energy companies. He has been chair of EACTP Standard and Admissions Committee and has been a member of the EACTP board.
