Education and Training Committee
The Education and Training Committee is responsible for determining the form of the theoretical knowledge examinations, its syllabus and content, examination papers and method. It also determines the requirements for continuing professional development. This includes approving the training organisations recognised by the EACTP for the provision of theoretical knowledge sufficient to enable candidates to sit the theoretical knowledge examinations and for the ongoing provision of continuing professional development education. The committee is chaired by eminent turnaround expert Fraser Pearce.

Fraser Pearce, ETC Chair
Fraser Pearce is a highly experienced senior professional and operator with specialist knowledge in the manufacturing and retail/consumer products sectors. Previously a Senior Managing Director at a US-owned restructuring firm, he has built up an extensive contact base and experience in the UK, European and Asian stressed and distressed restructuring arena across all sectors as well as the asset based lending community finding funding and investing solutions for businesses. Formerly a leveraged finance credit professional with a major UK bank in London he then carved out a solid reputation in the workout team at that bank as a senior official. He also has many years of exposure to acquisitions, restructurings and divestments, holding board level executive appointments as well as working company side. Fraser is currently Head of Lending at Alteri Investors, an Apollo backed retail focussed special situation fund.
Marcel Windt specialises in insolvency law and restructurings. He acts both as a court-appointed trustee and as an adviser of companies, foreign trustees, foreign counsel, creditors, management and banks.
Marcel advises his clients on liability, security rights and the implementation of the restructuring of a business in view of its financial problems, often in an international environment.
Pedro Acien is Founder and Managing Partner of Arganzuela Capital, an investment firm focused on the acquisition and turnaround of medium-sized manufacturing industrial businesses with strong fundamentals whose performance can be improved. He has a strong background in Turnaround Private Equity Investing and more than 10 years' experience in corporate and debt management of European LBOs, HY and distressed names. Pedro currently serves as Board Member of the Spanish Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).
Prior to founding Arganzuela, Pedro established the Madrid office of Alpstar Capital, where he worked as Investment Manager. Previous experience also includes several Investment Banking roles at JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch.
