CTP Mastermind: Lender-side diagnostics: How banks evaluate distress

You have built a viable turnaround plan. The EBITDA looks good. The operations are fixed. So why did the bank say no?

Many restructuring proposals fail not because the strategy is wrong, but because they fail to pass the "Lender-Side Diagnostic".

The Masterclass Dr. Eugen Lascu, CTP (Winner of the 2025 Excellence for Entrepreneurial Education Award), acts as your "Credit Committee Insider".

Drawing on his unique experience bridging the gap between distressed companies and banks (ex-Raiffeisen Bank), he takes you inside the "Black Box" of secured lending. He will deconstruct how banks actually evaluate distress—moving beyond cold ratios to understand the context that drives critical decisions.

Session Thesis: "Ratios tell the past. Context sells the future." To secure a rescue deal, you must learn to speak the language of risk.

You will learn:

  • The Hidden Metrics: How banks grade distress beyond the balance sheet.
  • Active vs. Reactive: Why "Turnaround" gets support while "Restructuring" gets rejected.
  • The Approval Checklist: How to build a proposal that ticks the bank's internal risk boxes.

About the Speaker Dr. Eugen Lascu, CTP, is the Managing Partner at Thepesia Corporate Advisory. A recognised academic and practitioner, he specialises in the critical diagnostic phase of corporate rescue.
