EACTP Mastermind: Leading Operational Turnaround in Engineering & Industrial Technology

Restoring Execution Capacity in Complex Multi-Stakeholder Environments

Technical Positioning:

In engineering and industrial technology businesses, performance deterioration is rarely a strategy problem; it is an execution problem. When complexity increases, stakeholders diverge, and operational pressure intensifies, organisations frequently lose the capacity to deliver the changes required to restore stability.

In capital-intensive industrial environments, value is not preserved by theoretical transformation programmes. It is preserved when turnaround leadership restores operational control, enforces visibility, aligns fragmented stakeholders, and re-establishes execution discipline under severe pressure. The fundamental challenge for practitioners is not determining how to transform a business, but how to make that transformation executable.

Event Overview:

Join Roel Nizet, CTP, recipient of the 2026 EACTP European Turnaround Practitioner of the Year Award, for a practitioner-led Mastermind examining operational transformation, turnaround execution, and value creation in engineering and industrial technology businesses.

Drawing on more than three decades of operational leadership and restructuring experience, Roel will detail how turnaround leaders restore operational control, align stakeholders, and rebuild execution capability in highly constrained environments. His professional practice focuses on liquidity management, stakeholder alignment, and the principle of “execution over advisory” in complex transformation and turnaround situations.

Central Thesis:

Operational transformation succeeds when organisations regain the ability to execute.

Learning Objectives:

  • Restoring Operational Control: Establish visibility, accountability, and decision-making discipline in complex engineering environments.
  • Closing the Execution Gap: Understand why transformation programmes fail despite sound strategy, and how leaders rebuild organisational capacity under pressure.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Align boards, lenders, shareholders, and management teams when priorities and capital structures diverge.
  • Stopping Value Erosion: Restore stability and operational predictability before pursuing long-term growth initiatives.
  • Leading Industrial Transformation: Navigate change and mitigate risk in capital-intensive and operationally complex organisations.

Speaker Positioning:

Roel Nizet, CTP, is a turnaround and restructuring executive with more than 30 years of international operational leadership experience. He specialises in operational transformation, liquidity management, distressed M&A, and stakeholder management within highly constrained multi-jurisdictional environments, frequently serving in Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) and board-level roles. In June 2026, he was recognised by the European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals as the European Turnaround Practitioner of the Year.

About the EACTP:

The focus of the European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP) is to educate, train and certify turnaround professionals and for the CTP qualification to be recognised as an industry-standard ‘kitemark’ of quality in the practice of turnaround and restructuring.

It aims to promote turnaround ahead of insolvency, thus saving more jobs and value in the public and national interest.

The EACTP promotes the benefits of turnaround ahead of insolvency through engagement with shareholders, company directors, business management organisations, creditor groups and governments.
