Wishing you a happy, prosperous and fulfilling 2021

Dear Member

So good bye 2020. Enough said!

A difficult year on many fronts but at EACTP we have made considerable progress. After considerable efforts from Board members in finalizing the Body of Knowledge and cooperation agreements we are ready to launch the training and education program with Leiden University. We now move to an exam based professional certification association greatly increasing credibility of membership.

We have increased membership in a period of transition and leave the year with greater financial stability. We have also brought membership levels in line with US ACTP and realigned our branding closer to TMA Global enabling us to draw more on its strength and resources.

We are better positioned than ever.

Let’s look forward to 2021 in a positive frame of mind. There is much for turnaround professionals to look forward to.

Vaccination progress should see locked down economies improving and governments retrenching support programs that have reduced creditor pressure and delayed necessary restructuring.

The EU UK trade deal removes uncertainties holding back investment decisions and will provide restructuring opportunities as companies come to terms with changes to established business models which will now require some production relocation and supply chain reassessment.

New legislation in UK, Netherlands and Germany should facilitate more consensual restructuring,  both operational and financial. These require restructuring plans based on a credible turnaround. This is our forte.

Looking ahead EACTP will continue to take a leadership role in promoting turnaround ahead of insolvency. We are investing in a more structured approach to marketing our expertise across a wide stakeholder base. We have a deep pool of talent to access providing information for our informative newsletters and for members to be involved in the webinar program which begins in January. And as our relationship with Leiden evolves we will introduce “bootcamps” for younger professionals to improve their practical knowledge pulling on experienced practitioners to help.

We are a young and growing organisation. Sharing experiences is fundamental to our success. We welcome everybody to be involved in our activities as contributors. If you have experiences of interest to be shared please contact Helen Lindop on eactp@turnaround.org.

I wish you all a happy, prosperous and fulfilling 2021.

Alan Tilley

EACTP President
